How many months in advance do I need to reserve your services for my wedding date? We do not have a specific amount of time to book our services. However, we recommend 6 months to a year in advance because it ensures that your date is reserved. .
What are your standard payment terms? We require a 50% non-refundable deposit to reserve your wedding date. Remaining balance is due two weeks prior to your event date. We require this deposit because we turn away other clients with the same event date and reserve it just for you. Will I get the master tape? How many copies come with the package? Yes....you will have the master edited dvd. One copy is included in the packages but you may make as much copies on your own from the master dvd. If you prefer to purchase copies from us, we charge $100 for the first copy and $50 for each additional copy. All our dvds come in an elegant leather-like dvd folio with picture window and black presentation box. This is not your standard plastic cases that most store bought dvds come in..
What is your event cancellation policy? If you should cancel your event, you will lose your 50% non-refundable deposit which was given at the time of booking. However, if you reschedule your event to another day and we are still available for the new event date, we will move your date to the new date without penalty. .
Will you attend the rehearsal? the rehearsal dinner? We do not normally attend the rehearsals because we have shot at most of the Hawaii venues and are very familiar with their policies and set ups. If you want us to shoot the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, arrangements may be made prior to your wedding day..
Who exactly will be shooting my video? Do you use subcontractors? I'm the primary videographer and I have one full time worker on staff. If a larger staff is needed, I have part time workers on call. .
Is editing included in the standard package? If extra, how much is the cost? Yes....all our videos are edited. .
What other services or special effects do you offer? How much is the cost? A popular upgrade to our basic slideshow is our 3D slideshow which simulates a 3D image from a standard photo. Call or email for current prices..
Can I have my wedding on DVD? Is this included in the standard package or an extra charge? How much? Yes....all packages include an edited master dvd in an elegant dvd folio. I do not block the dvd so you can make as much copies of the dvd as you want. .
How would you describe your style -- cinematic, documentary, or a mix of both? We do a mix of both cinematic and documentary styles. .
What kind of lighting do you use? Why did you choose this equipment? We prefer not the use on-camera lights because it sometimes becomes a distraction. However, we bring small on-camera lights to each event, just in case, lighting is required. .
What type of camera(s) do you use? Why did you choose this equipment? We use professional high definition Sony XDCAM video cameras. Some local companies shoot their video with photographic still cameras that are designed to shoot photos not videos. We chose the Sony XDCAM cameras because it provides high definition video, professional depth of field shots (blurring of the background), professional audio inputs/outputs, and its low light capability. .
How many cameras do you use? Do you bring backup equipment? It depends on how much cameras are required for the shoot. We do not bring backup cameras but we do bring back up wireless microphones, batteries, wires, etc. All our equipment is tested and prepared the night before the event date to ensure that all the equipment is working properly. .
How many wedding videos do you typically produce at a time? How many weddings do you work each year? We average around 50-75 weddings a year now but it depends on the economy. .
What makes you different from other local videographers? Why should someone hire you? Our unobtrusive style allows our cameramen to shoot behind the scenes without being a distraction at your event. We do not work with large crews with cranes and dollies. We rely on a smaller more intimate staff which is usually only comprised of a two to three man crew. We blend into the event without making a big production. But at the same time, capturing all those special moments. Most of our clients say that they never even noticed us at the events but were amazed at all the wonderful footage that was shot. Our editing style is both documentary and cinematic. We are creative but try to capture the essence of every video and strive to exceed your expectations. .
