Wedding officiating is a large part of Pastor Ken’s ministry.  He performs personalized wedding ceremonies that are crafted into your custom ceremony.  He does most types of ceremonies: spiritual, religious, civil, and non-denominational, and elopement.

Pastor Ken is a friendly, flexible, non-denominational pastor who can help you create your perfect wedding. He loves performing weddings! It is great fun getting to know couples and sharing their big day. Your wedding can be traditional, romantic, relaxed, spiritual, and fun. He will travel to the location of your choice to perform your wedding or perform the wedding at our chapel at the New Life Church of Dixon. Reverend Kenneth Smith holds a Master of  Divinity degree from North Park Seminary in Illinois. He is Senior Pastor of The New Life Church of Dixon. He is a nondenominational minister in active church ministry who enjoys helping couples celebrate their special day. Ken is a Seminary-trained professional with church pastoral experience and years of experience in wedding ministry.

He performs Marriages, Elopements, Baptisms, Baby Blessings, Renewal of Vows, and Memorial Services as you request.  Last minute weddings welcomed. Other aspects of Pastor Ken’s work reflect his experience in adult education, pre-marital counseling, spiritual coaching, pastoral care, and chaplaincy.  He will tailor your special day by working closely with you to make sure your wedding is just the way you dreamed it would be. Pastor Ken will travel to your location to perform your wedding in the greater Rockford and Chicago Area including parts of Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Indiana area.   Also, if you prefer, the New Life Church of Dixon provides a wedding chapel and reception facilities here at our Church in Dixon, Illinois.

The I Thee Wed Marriage Prep Course We want your marriage to last. So our church provides a marriage prep course designed to equip you to have a long and happy marriage. Pre-marital Counseling (couple-to-couple) available upon request. We offer this optional marriage prep course that presents the many realms of married life in an exciting, fun, and non-threatening way. We provide a safe environment to bring up and discuss the topics and issues that will help you survive the ups and downs of married life. The course contains valuable marriage information and advice. Participants are provided with course workbook sections that are yours to keep.  The course is designed to be completed together as a couple but also has thought-provoking workbook sections for each individual participant to explore. After course completion, we will meet for a short question and answer time and review your workbook sections. Keep all the materials for your reference, and feel free to contact Pastor Ken anytime thereafter. The New Life Church Wedding Chapel is nestled in the historic town of Dixon, Illinois. The New Life Church of Dixon offers our facilities as a wedding chapel for traditional weddings, nontraditional weddings, and wedding vow renewals. We offer affordable wedding package bundles including a wedding chapel, a wedding reception hall, and a non-denominational minister as your wedding officiant all for one affordable honorarium.  All remittances are made payable to the New Life Church of Dixon and go towards funding the church’s religious and charitable mission.
